Part (episode) 5 was an absolute masterpiece! MotA is quickly entering the upper echelon of BoB and The Pacific quality for me. Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck did a phenomenal job directing the Münster raid.
Episode 6 was outstanding ! Reflecting more horrid of war that these brave men endured ! Sad the human race has never learned from history & I fear the never shall . Masterpiece of film 😊
I've flown many times in the B-17G "Texas Raiders" (late model with Cheyenne tail turret). It NEVER got boring. The sights, smells, sounds and feel of that aircraft starting her engines, standing behind her, smelling the 100 octaine low-lead mixed with 60 weight motor oil (It was like coffee in the morning to me). Then the taxi and takeoff behind the flight engineer as the incredibly talented instructor pilot Pat Elliot, with WWII B-17 Veteran Dellon Bumgardner in the co-pilot seat, worked our way up and into formation with other WWII aircraft. This was the highlight of my life for about 10 years. Now "Raiders" and the B-17 "909" are dead, destroyed in accidents along with the civilians who flew in them. My heart aches for the families but also that those two magnificent B-17s are gone forever.
This show and it's predecessors are truly something special and it is going to be a sad day when this one is over knowing there will not he a 4th series
The way the music went in this scene...just couldn't help but have the feeling that of this group of B-17's heading up, very few or none of them would be coming back.
When i heard about this series and its story,i cant wait to watch,im one of those who loves ww2 history, knowing that air bombing was one of the most dangerous mission of the war, objective on destroying industrial and manufacturing structure of the enemy is important for the allies to eliminate, for them not to make equipment and tools for war,and the enemy will make any effort to stop them, every episode was intense, not knowing who is gonna survive or killed.
(spoiler) feels like this scene is a beautiful send off to the last remaining b17s of 100th group at the period of this episode, since this mission was where almost all of them did not return home
@@MOMAZOSPATO - The focus, according to the reviews, will be predominantly on Crosby and Rosenthal. They led the 100th for the remainder of WWII. While, the POW camps will occasionally be featured. That was the point of switching perspective halfway through Episode 5. It portrayed the change in lead characters. It is also worth noting, the cast and production team has stated, that if a single character were to receive his own film, it would be Robert Rosenthal.
Going to binge it in a few weeks so i haven't seen anything yet. Interested to see how CG B17's would look vs the real ones in say, Memphis Belle. Not sure about the sound. The wright-cyclones were a low drone.
I hope this series gives a nod to the P51 Mustang, that aircraft was a tide turning weapon against the Luftwaffe. Also can't wait to see the B17s without the green paint.
I believe there’ll be a side story tied to the main bomber characters about the Tuskegee Airmen in their Mustang days so that could be pretty entertaining.
Excellent show! I wish however that they had paid a little attention when doing their computer generated b17 takeoffs they would have actually put the flaps down.
Episode 5 showed an incredible super researched and detailed production set and scene of flight Operations, never before ever recreated on film. 🤩 BEST B17 Mass formation take sequence makes "Memphis Belle" look like shit and incredible horrific Munster air raid combat !
It's so weird going from scenes like this where you can't tell they're using VFX, to scenes where the aircraft look like cartoons in the air. Nonetheless, that doesn't take away from how good of a series this has been so far.
@@fitycalibre7555 And only 1 is in the UK where they filmed the most scenes. There are a handful of otherwise airworthy B-17s going through thorough maintenance periods that tend to last a few years.
Great soundtrack, cinematography, acting, writing, but god damn the CGI is abysmal and brings the entire thing down, should have left it a few more months in the oven.
This series sucks. At first I thought it was going to be better than The Pacific, but that changed by the 3rd episode. Without any introduction to the characters, there is no emotional connection when they die. This is the sad state of today's Hollywood. They don't have any skill writing ensemble cast, and without the hope of AI writers this will be the norm. Well back to Netflix to watch more Korean entertainment.
There really isn’t any other way to do a show on this scale without it. Only 4 are airworthy today. Not to mention if they did practical effects like bowing up models, people would complain about that too
There was no way around cgi, since there are just noch eneugh flying b17s around. But it could have looked better. Also the planes often bevae weird in the air.

Every frame is a perfect painting and the music is absolutely excellent

I agree !!! I find myself putting 5 on repeat. I love it!
The score did a fantastic job building up the tension for this scene. Episode 5 was my favorite so far. Well done!
The sound track is worth downloading. Fantastic
The last shot reminds me of the last shot in the first Band of Brothers episode.
Cinematography at its best. What a scene.

Amazing visuals, amazing music, amazing show 🔥
The BGM of this scene really takes you inside the aircraft!

It's amazing how they made their own b-17s. The show is very amazing.
"Okay, Blake, so we need music of the B-17s taking off for Munster, doesn't need to be anything too...."

I love this show.❤

I must admit, the CGI is incredible
That’s irl
THANK YOUUU!!! Im sick of people saying its bad like BROOO WHAT?!?!
The Audience, hearing the heroes' leitmotif in a minor chord: "Oh Neptune..."
Although it is full of CG, but still epic and looks realistic, my favorite part of MOTA
listening to the song "bad blood"
I think the CGI has really stepped up in this episode, not sure why but it looks much better then say episode 3
Asombroso

I think the take off scene in 'Catch 22 ' takes some beating ........done with real aircraft as well
I know they made 2 replicas, this show has been amazing
two static on hardstands, one hanging on a crane for ariel shots, and a Silver B17 version, one that taxies on the tarmac

CGI looks really bad. 🤮
If only they bothered to do less CGI in some scenes..
They build 2 full scale replicas for the series. Only 4 are airworthy left in the world so no way to do it in less cgi
